施肥：養護千年木不需要頻繁施肥，它本身就是生長特別緩慢的植物，只需要在春夏季節各給兩三次水溶性的薄肥就可以了，秋冬季節就要停止施肥，在室內施肥的濃度是平常的一半，如果施肥過濃，或施肥太頻繁，都會導致肥傷。

光：對於仙洞龜背竹這種植物，比較耐陰，不耐強光照射，所以在家庭養護的時候，儘量把盆栽放在明亮的客廳窗台邊上，就能夠滿足仙洞龜背竹的光照需求，尤其是在炎熱的夏季，要避開陽光直射暴曬，否則會出現葉片乾枯捲曲。
